I comissioned Susan to make an urn to hold the ashes of my wife, Sandra Kuckla. On Susan's suggestion, I gave her some of the ashes to be used as part of the glaze. Now Sandra is not only in the urn, she is part of it as well. It is an earthy green, inscribed with runes. Two cats grace the lid. It is an exquisite piece of work, and, most importantly, crafted by Pagan hands by someone mindful of the task. I have purchased a few pieces of Sweetwater Pottery each year for the past few at the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival. It is some of the most beautiful art I have ever seen. Using the dishes makes eating and drinking a very special experience! It also holds up well to microwaving and washing - its sturdy stuff! Thanks for a great product! ramonajane <ramonajane@hotmail.com> USA - Monday, October 11, 1999 at 12:09:12 (CDT)
